On US (Post-Maintenance 26th of Feb) & EU (as of time of original post), names at the moment are not protected.

Names that would previously result in Unavailable error messages such as class and race names, as well as swear words, can all be taken.

Grab some cool names and have fun, be careful with swear words.

be careful with this because when this happened on d2 then did a sweep of all those names that were suppose to be protected and locked them/del them.

This is probably the worst that will happen, but hey, it's a bit of fun.

I can easily see the bad words being removed (this has already happened to some people), but "normal" words like Class Names and such, who knows.

I wouldn't go spending money on renames, but making level one alts to level in the future if it remains, sure.
