Easier 30+ waves in Proving Grounds. (Atleast healing)

Hello. After couple of 30 wave tries with new gear scaling system in WoD I've got few interesting ideas and performed them sucessfully.
So basically you can get alot easier mobs if your gear is higher than 630. And when you'll get better gear this will be even more easier to you than before.

Main idea is get rid of some items, that don't really affect your overall performance, but will affect your ItemLevel and because of it also mob's health and damage.
You can be 670, but drop few items like rings/cloak/offhand and mobs will be scaled for 600 itemlevel.

So for example: I wanted to get 30 waves of healing. My average itemlevel was about 650. I had 615 trinket and 630 offhand so I decided to put 'em to my bags and tried first wave both with them and without 'em eqiped. From 2.4 million, one mob's hp have dropped to 1.9 mil. I guess there's like bottom cap for level 100, about 600 itemlevel, because their hp won't drop lower. I didn't tried it in damage(because got 36 waves in my first try ever) and tanking proving grounds, so not sure about them, but healing was alot easier, Got 42 waves in second try.

Also should work for someone who have troubles with Silver/Gold.

Didn't saw anything similiar on OC, but if there was something just delete my thread.
    Thanks for watching!

Can you clear this a little bit? You say, we can manage somehow to scale down the mobs' Hp to 600 even if we equip our top gear?
I thought mob HP changes at the very moment you change your gear.

TLDR Take off your "offset" items and put them in your bags. Put your rings, neck, cloak, wrist or belt in bag until nearing 600 ilvl. This way, you will get more stats per ilvl yet the mobs scale down in HP. If you have a random low ilvl piece, remove that instead.

I dont understand how this helps. Wouldn't it be the same effect since you're losing stats? >.<

No because you 676 heroic warforged sword with speed and socket has more stats then your 630 useless sword... more stats/itemlevel not more stats total

I don't understand how this is an exploit. You can take all of your items off and you'll see the first mobs with ~500k-1M hp. If you noticed as a healer that your parties hp and damage also scales. I tested this, took off 2 of my rings (gave me about 590 ilvl) and the tank was 2 shot'd in 1 second by the 2nd pack.

P.S. This was already announced that Proving grounds will not scale you to 630, but in fact will scale the mobs both friendly and unfriendly depending on your gear.

This exploit works only for well geared characters. Also you shouldn't put to your bags all of your items. Maximum 2 of them. This is an exploit because even with actual 650-670 geared character without 2 items you can get 600 ilvl scaled mobs. It will make progression easier, but not nobrain 1 button spam. So just forget about it if u can't heal through second wave lol.

I tried to be smart by re-equipping my decent gear during the first break (after 10 waves) but it ends the trial !

Seems to go by various parts of your gear rather than your overall average ilvl.
For example I did it with my necklace and belt unequipped, giving me 588 ilvl and I tried it again with some PvP gear on giving me 640 ilvl and the time I had the 640 ilvl, the mob had LESS health.

Lol buddy, I did 30 endless waves during the 1st patch of Pandaria, and atm I'm 670+ in healer gear. So I know my shit as a healer and this is not an exploit it's a scaling bug.

I did that as a test to see how fast your allies get flat, overall I suggest to farm mythic gear and it's easier, they scale less and less the better gear you have.

I took 2 items off to go from 671 to 586. I did this in tanking and in healing and unless i pull out cooldowns on the 3rd wave i can't get past it, especially in tank, i end up getting a stacking bleed debuff that ticks for ridiculous amounts of damage. I've never really done endless, i just went and got gold on tank/healing/damage and than called it a day.

Exactly m8, that's what I've been talking about, to scale down beyond 600 is suicide. Just get more gear and do it the normal way.

You guys are just doing it wrong, it scales down to 615, if you go below that, you're hurting yourself.

This is pretty convenient especially for gear with certain stats like bonus armor, spirit or removing crappy pieces like rings

One thing to take note though, some classes scale better at higher ilvls, if that's your case, this isn't a good idea.
