no, they dont need to be in the party, hell they can be in a different party and this still spams them.
well why did u say 'invite [name]' then?
its like that bug that made you kick people out of a group when you werent even in it, WoW registers you being in the group and shows him the roll as if he was in the group, beware this also shows to your current group.
