Private lock out for raid to get Elegon mount from MSV

Normally if you are in a raid and leave you lose your save or will enter the raid leaders save. There is a way around this as follows:

    1. Leave
    2. Invite a friend/random from chat etc
    3. Set to raid and reset instance
    4. Enter the raid whilst your friend/partner is still in the group
    5. Ask friend to leave/kick the helper

After doing the above you shall be given your own lockout at the boss and therefore if/when the mount drops it is all yours! The reason i have specified that this is for Reins of the Astral Cloud Serpent from MSV is because i have not yet got round to testing other raid locks using this method.

please note: you will need to find someone initially with the lockout or take 10 minutes with 2-3 people to get to the last boss, split and do above for your solo lockout.

I hope this helps some of you mount hunting and who have terrible luck with rolling/ninja's

What? - Isn't this common sense? Normal raid lockouts aren't shared

Apologies, this should be posted in the guides section.

Also normally your raid would be disbanded if its just you however in MSV it lets you stay in therefore letting you solo the raid without needing someone in the group still (even if they are not present)

Can't you just enter the raid as 1 person? If that's what this is about

Yes, as said its meant to be a guide for those who cannot solo due to perhaps lower level/gear. What this allows them to do is to do the raid with others and then retain the lockout for the boss, its a guide as quit a few people were asking how (even though its pretty simple). I just made a mistake and entered it into exploits rather than guides

you can always set up a raid finder group and log onto an alt and join the raider finder group.

there was a guide posted on this for all raid lockouts.

    TLDR.

get to the boss you need on A
A makes a raider finder group
log onto B and join raider finder group
A logs in and accepts B's invite
B logs back in and joins the group.
    Kill boss on B
    Repeat sets for other alts.

yes this method also works but ofc requires a alt. For those without one the above is a nice simple fix for this

But you still couldn't solo the boss in that case so what good is this if I have to invite a group of people to kill it. Shouldn't I just join a group and avoid the hassle?

this boss is soloable at a low ilvl, it simply requires a bit of knowledge of your class and the fight. In fact level 90s can kill it solo as youtube/other streaming sites etc have proven multiple times. True, some may regard 10 minutes work hassle but logically a mount with such a low % rate (0.8-1.3) the majority would want a 100% chance of receiving the loot vs 50%-.

This guide is how quite a few mount farmers sell their drops and this cuts them out providing you know the fight. OR of course as Jimmy indicated, once you have the save on your toon you can swap it to your alt which you know you can definitely solo. Ultimately this guide is based on people who are dedicated enough to want a 100% chance of looting upon drop, not 50%-, its personal preference really.
