    [Exploration Potential] Falling Flame

currently, Falling Flame is usable in burning crusade starting zones (silvermoon city, eversong woods, ghostlands, exodar, azuremyst isle, bloodmyst isle).

i don't believe this is working as intended as we're currently unable to fly in those zones. using falling flame (especially the glider + falling flame technique) in these zones lets us get to places we normally wouldn't be able to reach/access, such as the silvermoon city dead scar and the mountains (plus a couple quest areas that alliance wouldn't be able to get to otherwise).

edit: i wasn't sure whether i should post this thread in exploits or exploration. since this seems unintended either way, i posted it in exploits. if this was the wrong place, please feel free to move it.

    [Working as Intended]

If blizzard had intended the item to only work where flying mounts are available for use, the item description would reflect that.

This has been known for quite a while now, OP.

I've been using it myself in various places, and I'm probably going to get another one and save it for use in the coming expansion (flying will be disabled for a long time, so this item has great potential for the future).

Not true. They fixed Bottled Tornado for the exact same reason. (that and BG abuse with gliders)

Bottled Tornado - Item - World of Warcraft

That doesn't change the fact that the item itself was built as intended, but they didn't anticipate the exploitation. As with this item, it functions as designed, it's just been used in a way unforeseen.

I'm not sure if you know that both your sentences are basicly the same thing. Considering that this item allows you to go places you'd never be able to go without a flying mount (in areas where flight is restricted), you may damn well say that that counts as an exploit. Or are you going to launch yourself into the scar for example, then try and contact a GM and say that you got there in a legitimate way and that they're unable to do something to punish you?

It doesn't mean that if you use said item for something that ISN'T intended to happen, that that doesn't make it an exploit.

Edit - that being said, thank you for mentioning this, I was unaware this item functioned in TBC zones.
Edit 2 - I wish people would just be happy once with a usefull contribution.

Working as intended implies that Blizzard expected people to use the glider with the falling flame item, which I'm almost positive they didn't- Especially since the falling flame shoots you off into the air in a random direction and the glider takes advantage of the height you get and then allows you to go in whichever direction you want.

    Sorry buddy, but you're wrong.

I have to agree with Woona. Maybe 1 of 1000 get's banned for explorations. That still makes me say: You cannot get banned for explorations. As long as you explore without 3rd Party Programs, NOBODY will ban you. Even if you go to GM Island.

    It's fine to have one
It's fine to be proud of it.
But please don't whip it out in public and start waving it around.
And PLEASE don't try to shove it down my children's throat.
