Gold Dupe with server crash

u cant dupe gold... ppl dont even try this shit.... i tried to dupe large prismatic shard but when i relogged it wasnt in my bags... it dissapeared

Theoretically, to get this to work right, say you have the gold you want to dupe, you get invited by the leader to the arena team, trade him the gold, and he logs off,thus saving his character with the gold on it. You then accept and it crashes the server, YOUR character should get rolled back, but his shouldn't, since he was logged off and saved prior to the crash.

It doesn't take a split second to save a logout character so you will need to adjust the timing in between crashing the server and saving the duper character. But blizzard already learned from their mistakes from Diablo2 and theoretically (to prevent cheating) they had to force to save both characters after a trade [Lag after a trade session could be a proof]. The only exception though is from Auctioning(self-proven) or vendoring (proven by somebody) the items will not save you right away.

Its confusing really... but to simply put it: Char A gets saved, Char B doesnt = dupe happens.

so, I got 2 accounts one scammed one not, if I log in with my scammed acc and does this with my mate and crash the server do only my acc get banned or both? and is the ban instant or does it take 1hour or so?

I've just tested this with a friend of mine and THIS DOESNT CRASH THE SERVER I'm afraid, it only gets you and the other dude disconnected

I think there has been a hotfix hasn't it? Well anyway.. why should they ban you for this IF it works? If you don't know about this bug, invite a friend and go offline. What then? This is a possible situation.

Here is what I don't understand.... If they roll the server back 5 minutes, they give you the gold back because you actually had the gold 5 minutes ago. So it seems to me that you would also lose the gold on the receiving player since you didn't have the gold 5 minutes ago....

Player1: Trades 1k gold
Player2: Receives 1k gold
Player2: Logs out (Character Saved)
Player1: Disconnected,rollback (1k gold in his backpack)
