lvl 90 joining Dungeon finder low level

A couple weeks ago i was doing RaF with my friend and and we got into stratholme which is like a lvl 50 dungeon or something. This was a completely new dungeon with no bosses killed and our tank was a lvl 90 Dk who somehow manage to join the group to help us out. Anyone know if this is a glitch or something?

You can do this by running a dungeon at max level and staying in the instance group after it has been completed. Afterwards, you would run to the instance you would want to que for (RFC for example.) You would then open the dungeon finder tool and hit Look For More Players and be placed in a group with lower levels.

Although, if you are trying to do this with lower levels to help run RAF faster, you would have to luckily get into the same queue as them. If you would like to continue to run with those lower level players, you all would have to travel to the next dungeon while still in the instance group and look for more players there. This method is no better for power leveling with recruit a friend as is running to the dungeon yourself outside of RDF.

This can be done the same with LFR, and running to DS while still in an Instance Group to obtain LFR Color Variations of gear. But you will start out on Ultraxion and the queue is dreadfully long.

Confirming this works, however I had to do it with two people as I couldn't get out of the instance when I was the only one left without being dropped from the instance group.

This is also possible to join higher level dungeons on low lvlers, for example me and my friend joined Blackrock Caverns via LFD when we where 78 ( you need to be 80 to join via LFD). We used the same method as Vicarinda is pointing out.
