Multiple boss loot / week

Hey guys, i've found this while gearing my alt for Herald of the Titans run.
Basically you kill boss with char #1 and get loot to char #2 without getting instance locked.

How to do:
1. Get both your chars before the boss you want to get loot from
2. DC char #2 (alt)
3. Quickly log into char #1
4. Pull the boss while char #2 is still online (i believe char #2 have to take some damage from boss in order to get loot, but i'm not sure)
5. Loot

This method is really good if you want to farm some transmog gear or items for your alt / twink in raids you can solo.
Probably doesn't work in raids with HC settings.

Edit:Not sure about the instance lock, i did it a few weeks ago in bt for my 70 warrior and he got locked. Maybe it works differently for wotlk raids and up.
Eitherway the character is still classed as there for the boss kill, so it doesn't need to be damaged.

Ah sorry for reposting than.
However doing ToC now and it looks like your alt needs to be offline at the time of kill otherwise he will get the instance lock. This might be the problem with BT cause you kill bosses faster than in WotLK raids.

Its kind of theorycrafting, since you have not looted the same boss multiple times per character (the mentioned char#2)
But the 2 char tagging boss is common practice since TBC.

1. Having both ur alts in the instance and raid.
2. Pull boss with char 1, DC from another wow client and log char 2, finish the boss and get double loot

I am going to try this tonight. I think this will only be applicable to a few instances, or the first boss of a instance.

Either using a separate account or the OP's login/logoff method, when character 2 logs back in after the boss kill you are still going to get the accept the raid ID flag. If you can loot the boss before having to accept the raid ID then I can see this working.

ToC, VoA, RS, OS and Malygos would all be good examples, as you basically zone in at the bosses feet. And if you're there for the tag, you should be eligible for loot.

A good way to do this is just have two copies of wow open, one logged in and one at the logic screen. Pull on ur alt with a DoT, quickly log urself off and get on ur main, kill boss. Ur alt will have a tag b/c of the DoT (assuming you were quick enough before boss despawns)

OT: I actually tried this method yesterday and was able to loot but was unable to skate around the lockout. I may have been too slow. Might try again tonight. On a side note, my boyfriend was also present which may have made it auto-apply the lockout?
