First time I've stumbled upon an exploit in a long time, I have attempted to find something on the forums prior to posting this, however nothing came up so here goes.
First off I'll mention the restrictions and setup of this exploit:
- You need to position yourself outside the dungeon portal of the instance you feel like running before doing anything else.
- You need to be able to enter the instance portal so it's not possible to do instances that are higher than your current level range (There may be potential for twinks to get higher level loot bags in some cases, however I have not tested this)
- You need to complete any random dungeon finder group legitimately first, meaning you will need to kill the final boss of the dungeon.
Ok, so now you've completed your random dungeon Here's the steps you need to take:
- Do not leave the group, I would recommend joining up with a friend to avoid the potential of everyone leaving instantly, though if you're quick enough it shouldn't be an issue.
- Teleport out of the dungeon and walk into your instance portal, upon doing this it changes the dungeon finder dungeon to whatever dungeon you've entered.
- Either wait for the other people to leave or kick them where possible (Not really necessary of course)
- Open the dungeon finder window and you'll notice it's now asking you to find more people to finish the dungeon you just entered, join the queue and wait!
The usefulness of this exploit is debatable, personally I find it quite fun to confuse the hell out of people by running Blackrock Depths on one of my 90's and as the XP doesn't seem to be dramatically effected by the presence of a high level char it's quite nice for the randoms you're running. Also if you've joined with some of the randoms from your first Random Dungeon group they'll also be tied to this dungeon as well, meaning if they "teleport to dungeon" they'll be there as well.
Unfortunately I've not yet been able to find a way to do this exploit with a specific lower level character as you're not able to invite people to Random Dungeon groups, but hopefully this exploit may serve as a base for someone else to build upon, there certainly seems to be some potential here!
