Easy way to farm clickable items (Onyx Eggs, Dark Soil, Padaria artifacts, etc)

VERY IMPORTANT EDIT: This can be used to find your daily Trove of the Thunder King
or even inside the scenario of the same name to check if certain chests are gold before climbing boxes and going through a maze of crap... This could be absolutely MASSIVE for shaving time off your Trove runs and getting the related achievements! I'm really glad I thought to add this in... Also, added pics to show what you will see happening on your screen.


I believe I owe credit to either Dante or Arai for the method of doing this but I'm not positive. Here's the details...

Make the following two macros, you can name them Low Graphics and High Graphics or whatever you want. The first is low, 2nd is high.

Keybind them so that they are next to each other and easily spammable back to back, i.e. bind them to 1 and 2 on your keyboard. Go to an area that you are looking to farm a clickable object and look in whatever direction you'd like to start in. Spam the macros fast i.e. 1 2 1 2 1 2 1 2 1 2 1 2 1 2 1 2 and you'll see all the terrain disappear while you continue spamming, but you'll still be able to see clickable objects, mobs, and the blue boxes that make up in-game buildings. I just found two Dark Soils within 10 seconds of each other just by looking in a certain direction, spamming the macros, and flying towards whatever objects I could still see. It might sound strange at first but once you use the macros quickly you will understand exactly what I'm saying.

This is a picture taken from the mage portal in Dalaran to REALLY show you how powerful this is. Notice the underground campfire and the chairs floating in mid air from the second story of a building, that will give you a clear idea of the intent of this exploit.

As you can see, all of the terrain disappears and only solid in-game objects remain on the screen. The same is true of any mob so this could be used to check inside of caves for certain objects or mobs before wasting the time flying into them.

I do not take credit for the macros that make game terrain disappear, only the idea of using it as an unfair advantage to gain rep, profit, or whatever else you're after.

Note: You used to be able to fly through terrain and objects while it was faded out on your screen. You can no longer do that, so this is more of a tool just to locate what you're trying to find without any mountains, trees, water, etc in your way. You will be able to see QUITE FAR, too, so this is a really REALLY good method!!

Don't forget to put your graphics settings back to however you had them before using the macros I listed as those macros will completely alter your settings.

Thanks for linking your addon, I recommend using it so you don't have to spam macros!! I gave you credit in the original post because I knew you had something to do with it, but the idea of this thread is how to profit off the bug rather than just pointing to its existence.

I took a screencap in Dalaran to give a much clearer picture of what this does. This picture is taken right from the portal you get sent to when you port from a mage portal or Shrine for example. As you can see, all solid objects, NPCs, and players are still in plain site allowing you to locate anything you want instantly while completely ignoring the terrain being there. I will add this link to the original post as well.

You can specifically see the campfire from under the ground and the set of chairs floating in mid air and just below them (from floor 1 and 2 of a building) to make obvious how useful this is. Enjoy!

Edit: Currently flying through Storm Peaks and used this technique to locate Vyragosa (Time-Lost Proto-Drake's counterpart) through a bunch of mountains. NPCScan or a similar addon would obviously help you with that but it's still great used in conjunction to see exactly where the NPC is immediately upon detection. Please, if anyone can think of something else this can be used for, post it in the thread. I'll +rep anything that helps me for what it's worth!

Here are a couple more things I did to give some more ideas....

Finding Sha of Anger's spawnpoint through the mountains of Kun-Lai Summit...

Looking at the Royal Chamberlain in his underground cavern from the quest hub outside the Court of Bones...

I used it to find my Trove of the Thunder King today within literally 10 seconds of getting to the isle but I didn't think to screenshot it, however I'm sure you get the idea... By the way, if you haven't found one on the Isle of Thunder yet, it awards an achievement the first time! You can use THIS MAP to see where to start looking, and since they are usually underground or hidden within a structure or ruins of some type, the macro effect is awesomely powerful...

Finding the Crumbled Chamberlain's parts quickly to get the achievement for completing the quest within 10 minutes of picking up the first piece is made trivial with this method as well. I've been fading the terrain out all over the place last night and today to find new things and it's given me all sorts of fun stuff so far, so try this for yourself! Thanks again.

I have found that you can mount up through floors and walls on a two-seater with this macro

sorry for my bad english, i hope you understand what i mean...

the 2. person is under your postion (under the floor) and you use the macro...now you can mount up through the floor at the two seater mount.

Yes. It lowers settings regardless of if you're set up to show 'Fair', 'Good', 'Ultra', etc. If you put graphics at the lowest settings AND used the first macro to lower everything else, you'd be way better off for botting performance-wise.

If you're having an issue with your computer rendering way too fast, resulting in just small flickers. try limiting your foreground fps.
had to limit mine to 8 for this to work. but nice find!
