Digg - WoW Server Crash Exploit Wreaks Havoc on Blizzard Servers
Digg it, sorry for posting a link to another site, just thought that this making it on digg was pretty humorous.
+Rep for finder
Congratulations, you've made it to the front page of Digg.
Omfg My 24 Hours Of Internet Fame Are Finally Here
This was hotfixed and no longer works.
Then by that rule you could post information on compromizing all kinds of services regardless of setting and context and get away scott-free because you used pronouns and didn't say key words?
The fact it is on a forum called WoW Exploits Exploits Section for World of Warcraft.
is evidence enough for Blizzard to seek repair.
It's patched now, so it matters little now. See how far your golden rule takes you.
To be clear, I personally thought this was a funny post and a funny trick. But, it is a dangerous thing to do. In this case the people who used the hack and actually crashed their realms have caused Blizzard to loose money (not that I don't like that). Blizzard will have to issue free days to the people on the servers who were effected. That means those are days Blizzard didn't get paid.
"So what" you might ask? Well the problem with actually costing Blizzard money is that your account with Blizzard is a contract, a legaly binding contract. When you intentionally breach the contract by using your normal exploit, you may screw the game up but you don't cost Blizzard actual cash, so they are happy to just ban you. But when you intentionally breach the contract and cost Blizzard money you are setting yourself up for a potential lawsuit from Blizzard IRL. It could end up costing you real money.
If you add up the amount of money Blizzard will have lost by having to issue free game days because of this hack, it will probably add up to a very large amount. That large amount may very be big enough for them to justify the legal fees to go after the people responsible. Which perhaps could even include this beloved site?
There is a big difference between figuring out how to find God Mode and crashing servers, just be sure you are willing to take the risks before you decide to do either.
I like that saying there, I also like cake =P but that doesn't matter.
Yeah crashing servers makes blizz blizz get cranky and most likely ban hammer your face if they find out lol.
Interesting topic is that the other day I was spam advertising my *scam* website (trial acc) ,all of a sudden whenever pushing enter with anything typed in came up with "Your chat log has been disabled until customer service makes further investigation"
And I knew that trial acc was screwed >.<
Nice one mate +rep guaranteed!
It got me banned...my friend I think reported me (not ^perma)
