Found a quite easy path to get up to the Lightning Forge on Isle of Thunder.

In this first picture you can see the rock I used to run up. It's actually quite easy and surprised me it was right there. It's much easier to jump on the rock with Path of Frost but is possible to get up without it:

Here's a picture of me in the forge, I was even able to kill Itoka and get the recipe to make Lightning Steel. Not sure what his respawn timer is or if he will respawn before the island is opened, he hasn't in about an hour. It's possible he won't respawn until stage 3 is completed.

Upon completing the quest on a book sitting on the forge you get pages that teach you how to make the 6 reforged weapons from BC. I can make them all right now and lightning steel.

im @ the forge using your method, no mob, and cant touch the books :-/

Mob still hasn't respawned on my server so it's definitely possible he only spawned once initially when the servers went up.

Having trouble finding the forge

I'm max engineer and i've killed him twice but haven't gotten anything but gold from him. I'm not sure that the engineering thing made it to the game or not though.

Has anyone found any troves of the thunder king in the locked area?

Does he spawn inside at the forges?

Killed this guy twice and got nothing as an engineer. After the first kill he respawned within 5 minutes, it has been 4 hours now and he has not respawned again. I think Blizzard completely removed all the planned changes to engineers in 5.2. Read over the current patch notes, engineering is not mentioned at all.

is there any way to get any farther into the locked areas besides the thunder forge and the zandalari fortifications? also confirmed working, at least to get to the thunder forge

you can get to the Harbor (& from there to all the other areas except Nalak)area too through the east side of the island with jumping of a ledge with mount + using Goblin racial or as a warlock with demonic leap.

PS: i think Nalak's place is impossible to go to.. no ledges and all doors are closed.

yeah i got the courtyard before nalak's place but i can't seem to get into there at all

got to the forge with the help of a friendly DK...no spawn up...will check back every 20 mins or so
