1ST: Rlz sorry but youre stupid. POM ALTER time is one of the most op thing mages can do atm in pvp. You pomy poly healer alter time insta ring both of dps. Most of the high rated mages do it.
2ND: Its known for a long time and I think that the thread name should be 3 POMS as a mage.

When you use POM its cooldown isnt going down until you use it. But if you use POM -> alter time -> lets say you cast water elemental -> alter time back. Now you still have POM buff but its cooldown is going down. So you wait 1.5 min then you have pom buff but its not on cooldown. So you can use something like frostbolt -> pom -> alter time -> bolt -> alter time -> bolt and that way you got 3 instant frostbolts in a row.

Sorry, I just understood what you were trying to say. Indeed you can use it three times, but you have to do it very fast in order to make it.

    Thanks for sharing your find

Hit the nail right on the head. Thanks for someone FINALLY explaining what he was talking about instead of trolling and rep-fishing remarks. <3

Possibly make a short clip explaining it? I don't believe it's working as intended per se, but it has limited use considering the start of a bg is a minute+
its working as intended as if you had Pom and used it in alter time, the Spell cd starts to count down as you used that SPELL, then when you alter time back you still have the buff but since its a duplicate the spell itself will countdown the cooldown, its basic and intended.

you do understand keeping the buff without using it will render it purged by a shaman in mere seconds.. on high rating

So the most obvious application of this is that you can cast 3 pyroblasts (or whatever) at the start of a battleground.

Probably not an exploit and maybe obvious if you have POM in your talent tree already, but kind of interesting.

Most of the time it isn't going to be worthwhile to let the POM run down as your sacrificing too much in consistent
damage, but there are situations where burst damage is more important. Three pyroblasts, combustion and inferno
blast can kill a healer and rip through the best part of a team, useful in endgame scenarios such as you often get in WSG
and Twin Peaks, where multiple players huddle round the EFC.

When i read thread title, i was ready to talk about how retarded you were.

After reading it (albeit a long read) i understand what you mean,

When you cast PoM, You get the buff. But it doesn't start the cooldown on the spell until you use it.
When you do PoM > alter time, and wait for it to run out. The Cooldown on PoM will start counting down while you still have it.

Letting you use pom buff, cast pom again instantly, alter time, use pom, alter time and pom again.

Won't be useful for anything other then setting up beforehand, as you should never use it mid fight in anything.
