[Mage] 2 minute Invincibility

There are mobs at the Dusklight Bridge in Townlong Steppes called Kor'think Timerhusk. They have a magic buff called Timberhusk that reduces damage by 80% and the buff stacks. If you go there as a mage and spell steal as many stacks as you can you will take next to no damage. Spell steal caps at 2 minutes so you only have 2 minutes after stealing the first stack though you should only need 4-5 stacks to reduce any damage to single digit numbers.

Yes, each stack lasts for 2 minutes each. So there won't be much of a duration left once the gates open in a Bg, but like I said, there may be other applications. A 2 minute massive damage reduction could be used for a lot of things... Like tanking anything, exploration, just about anything where excessive damage becomes a problem within a 2 minute window.

yeah i remember this buff while leveling mage. im sure it will get fixed eventually. also its broken by fire magic

I'm not sure if it's any spell within the fire school or if the tooltip just says that because of how the quest works.

Lets say a mage spellsteals that buff, so he has his 2 mins of 1 dmg... I don't think you can do much with it. If you could keep it for 5mins or longer it would make a huge diff

A thought, can you spellsteal this buff off a mage that spellstole it? Dueling back and forth to keep it going?

You can spellsteal it, but you get the same duration as it is at the moment of the spellsteal.
If you spellsteal a buff with 36sec duration left, then you'll get a buff with 36sec duration.

Worth mentioning these mobs are phased into the middle of the Townlong Steppes questline. Once the quest line progresses the mobs vanish and you can't go back to it ever. Damn pity as I would have loved to take Varian and this buff over to the Shrine of Two moons, and play with the Horde.
