Totally depends on what you did with the macro, if you used it to take advantage over players by starting early in PVP etc... you will certainly be banned.

In-game macros wouldn't be categorized as third party programs, so I really doubt that the suspension was due to using the macro.

Don't go into trees and such and attack the other faction unless you want to get banned
