Old school DC Macro is back - no trouble with logging back on this one

    Hello guys !

Recently there were some posts on DC Macros but relogging problems were reported, so I decided to find my own way of DCing and, good news, I found one that works like a charm, like the good old RaoV one. It instantly gets you to logging screen, with no problem to log back and no WoW crash

    Aaaaaand here it is !

    /run for v=1,500 do for i = 1,GetNumFactions() do SetWatchedFactionIndex(i) end end
    What does it do ?

Very simple : it switches your currently tracked faction multiple times, leading to a disconnect.

    How to use it ?

Normally one click is enough to get DC but sometimes pressing twice (after the 1st one starts looping) works better.

Here you go, enjoy it, test it, make cools things with it

Do not spam it too much, of try reducing 500 to a lower number. One some occasions reps continues looping after reconnect but I never had two DC in a row.
This macro may need some tuning, so feel free to test

With some exploits you need to DC very fast and alt-f4 is quite poor (because you have to relaunch wow) so DC macro kicks in

What I mean is I sometimes can't get it to disconnect again, it just loops and finishes.

This might be normal behavior, try pressing the macro twice with half a second delay.

The RAoV macro was great because it could be used in conjunction with things like Giant Growth... you could put the growth elixir and the DC in the same macro and press 1 button to grow through walls... if what you're saying above is correct, sometimes you have to press this twice... so not sure it would exactly "work like a charm, like the good old RAoV one"...

Looking very forward to testing this when I get home. If it does indeed work as easy as the old macro, you've got a pile of +rep coming your way from me!

I just tested it this way and I got great news Even if it sometimes takes a delay to freeze and DC, you effectively get DCed at the moment you press the macro. I tested it by walking on a straight line and using DC macro between two street lamps. The game did not freeze right off, it took a few seconds but when I reconnected I was at the place where I pressed the macro.

So 500 is good for loop, 1 press is enough, the 1st DC is instant but the following may take a few seconds to freeze even if they activate instantly.

I'm getting proud of my find

I guess I will comment on this one of many different other DC macro threads. I am glad that everyone is sharing with the community new ways to disconnect your client. Currently every single one of these new "DC Macros" are just simple scripts that overload the client leading to a disconnect. Which in my mind isn't really a DC macro because it isn't really a instant DC. The Guild Bank Macro if spammed fast enough will do the same thing. With the latest patch Blizzard cleaned up a lot of the old API and brought it up to date and changed many things so backup DC macros were fixed or just completely removed. Currently RAoV has NO DC macro. Sorry guys best of luck to find a new DC macro!

DC Macro is something to get you out of the game as fast as possible. Even if this macro operates client-side (old RAOV one was a proper server DC) it still instantly DCs you. Which is in my mind far better than alt-f4 or a forceQuit(). However as no exploit is using my macro yet I don't know if it is usable for something, I'm just showing what I found.

I did a Macro back a few days wich made the same thing but was only freezing your screen and on other screens you are still walking but if you get your WoW back to Non-Freezed mode it will port you back where you pressed your Macro so it may be a Dc for TIme :P but i only tested a few things with it ^^

    Anyway +Rep

Thank you for this confirmation, Snyth. I knew all of these DC methods were different than the RAoV one, I just didn't know how to vocalize that difference.

To the OP... I still look forward to testing this, and it may very well work for my own purposes... but what would really make my day is a true server-side instant DC.
