Infinite Warbot Iginition Keys (pet that vendors for 125g)

Ok so today I logged on 1 of my characters and noticed I had mail containing a Warbot Ignition Key (pet). Didn't think much of it until I logged on another character and found out it also had mail with 1 of them in. I tried making a new character and instantly got another Warbot.

These vendor for 125gold each, and sell in AH for around 700g (atleast on my server)

So the trick is to create new characters, then mail the warbot that it receives over to your main, delete the character and repeat. You can sell these on AH, in trade or vendor them.

This only seems to work if you don't already have the warbot in your pet collection. I just added mine to my collection and now I can't seem to get anymore.

This was working earlier today on EU servers and should still work unless it was hotfixed.

I'm not sure exactly, I assumed everyone was getting them. I tried making a few characters earlier and instantly received them in my mail. Maybe its rewarded as part of some achievement I earned in the past? I dunno

What he is saying is that his character is linked to the Warbot by participating in the Mountain Dew event years ago but he never actually learned the pet cause he deleted his toon, so it's not in his logs. What happens is since he's never officially learned it but it's linked to his account, he keeps making new toons and keeps getting new pets, being able to sell them.

This is actually something that is pretty freakin awesome and should prob be in ELITE if it is true... don't want to delete all my toons to verify lol

They are from a mountain dew event that took place last year. If you have one all your toons will continue to get it. Nice find.

Mountain dew event? I don't think I ever took part in such an event...

In that case, is this for US servers only? Obviously the achievement was only available for the US region.

By the way if you do get the pet, make sure you do not learn it! else this will stop you receiving anymore. I'm about to try this with a different WoW account now to see if that receives them in the mail. Will update asap

I only tried it on EU server and works

I got mine through the promotion, I have already learned it on my other characters and got it in the mail. I will make a second lvl 1 to confirm!

Edit: Seems if you know it already on one bnet account then you will not receive it in the mail.

If you already learned it , then you wont' be able to receive anymore. Once I had learned it and logged into other characters it just said "you have too many of those items" so I can't receive anymore now.

I just tried on another WoW account and that didn't get the mail containing the warbots So I guess its down to some achievement I have on my main account? Pretty sure I didn't participate in any mountain dew event, else why did I only get it today?

Has anyone read the latest patch notes to see if they've made any changes to how this pet is obtained?

Only other way of getting them now is from the vendor I heard. So I have no idea ._.

Must be some other way... else why did I keep getting mail with them in on every character on my account ?

Could be down to an achievement since they became account wide this week, maybe that was enabling the achievement on each character and in turn rewarding the pet to each of those characters by mistake?

Has anyone else received the pet in their mail recently?

I dont know, cause the alt I tried it on was not on my main account it was on my other account but they are both linked to the same battle net. Thats why I thought it might work in it
