Instant 250 Valor upon login on Reset Day

DCing during encounters has always resulted in "interesting" things. But this is no bug. In the past you normally did not get anything from a boss if you had a DC and were not online during the actual kill. Blizz changed this. Now you at least get the points for the kill although you normally cannot loot the boss.

But how did you manage to loot all LFR-bosses including Madness? You said that you got the 250VP for the Madness kill, which means that you have not killed Madness in the previous week = no loot.

Or does this mean that you already killed Madness that week, looted him and then killed him again and got the 250VP for this second kill after the reset = 500 VP from both kills? That would be an exploit.

So upon logging in on Wednesday (on EU servers) I discovered that I was rewarded with 250 Valor points. Thinking back on when I logged off last night I realised that I had exited the game half way through the Madness of Deathwing encounter on the LFR. So I'm guessing that if you want a very fast and instant 250 Valor points upon logging in on reset, you want to exit the game half way between Madness on LFR and log back on after the reset.

TL;DR,

• Join Fall of Deathwing LFR on Monday (US)/Tuesday (EU)
• On the Madness fight, exit the game (alt+F4, press the X if in windowed mode)
• Log back in the next day with an instant 250 Valor points

Just a few points to clear up any potential questions,

• I was Valor capped (1000/1000) before I entered the LFR
• I had already looted the entire of LFR, including Madness
• This is not a UI bug - I do have an extra 250 VP
• The 250 VP does count towards this week's 1000 cap, and you can't get the 250 VP again from Madness.
• You CAN loot Madness this week again.

You already looted Madness in LFR that week. Now the stupid German asks himself how you loot a boss without being awarded the VP for the kill!? Maybe already capped at that time?
As you obviosly already killed Madness in LFR that week, then this must have been at least your second kill that week. In this case the system should not award you any VP at all.
You definitely received 250VP after logging in after reset. Now the dumb German wonders if these 250VP are for your second kill during which you logged off. In this case we would have two failures: receiving 250VP after being capped + receiving these 250VP for a second kill for which no VP should have been awarded.

Maybe there is some good samaritan out there willing to help me to understand this.

And there's the exploit. He cleared the LFR all the way up to Deathwing and then left mid-fight. He wasn't going to be awarded VP for that kill, but for some reason, when he logged in after the cap and LFR had resetted, he got 250 VP.

Last week = week 1. This week = week 2.

During week 1, he had completed LFR, and looted all the bosses. He did LFR again during week 1 while he was already Valor capped. He forced quit WoW during the last LFR in week 1. Logged in during week 2, had an extra 250 valor which counts toward week 2's cap. He also has credit for week 2's Madness kill.

I believe this is what he is trying to say, correct me if I'm wrong OP.

No, I did not have credit for Madness kill on week 2. I could loot it again if I wished, and I did, but I didn't receive the 250 VP the second time again, I had to cap it some other way.


Week 1: I cleared LFR including Madness and received the 250 VP bonus from both. I then capped my VP, and queued for LFR again. Force exited on Madness...
Week 2: Logged back on, received 250 VP. Did LFR. I COULD LOOT MADNESS. I did not receive the 2nd 250 VP from Madness again.

TL;DR, exploit is for a quick 250 VP on Wednesday, for instance, if you had time to do it on tuesday but not wednesday, but wanted the VP ASAP.
