I spent a lot of time yesterday trying this out and my thought is that there is something with this coming from archaeology that makes this possible, when attempting for example ZG tiger the mount buff is still there, same with ashes of alar, mammoths, spectral wind rider etc.

Been trying with fossilized raptor and I'm not getting the same effects as with the scepter because the mount buff is still there so you can't stay mounted at non mount areas and I'm not getting the randomly increased speed.

But I thought you were clicking off the mount-buff the moment you entered the instance... why would the mount buff still be there... is it perhaps a timing thing? I had just given lovestotwink +2 rep for the update... perhaps I should have waited for a confirmation. I do not have the Scepter yet, but I do have the Fossilized Raptor.

MiscGaming, I am assuming that this speed "buff" goes away upon a loading screen? Could you please confirm/deny? I'm now thinking of doing a follow-up video to the Archaeology Tranformation Glitch video on my own YouTube with this new information. This is a very interesting glitch.

The speed is indeed removed upon entering BG's/instances/logging out, the difference between the scepter and I assume all other mounts is that just by attempting to enter an instance the mount buff goes away just like the archaeology transform items, now when combining this with clicking away the buff that's when the glitch occurs.

the closest ive got is flying with no buff but i DC every time i move. i havent tryed it on my mage yet. im not keen ether cause my mage is on my Bnet with my beta invite.

All the mount buffs that are still active are client side only displays, serverside still shows the mount under you when you do this.

Just wanted to add a little tip here for you guys. When you're in Naga form and you want to pull your weapons out you can do so by flipping a Titanium Seal of Dalaran coin.

By the way I find the funniest looking thing with this glitch is to get a friend as a demon (from the cave outside durotar) standing on the recruit a friend rocket and me as a naga standing on the back of his mount. It's hilarious. I'll provide screenshots tomorrow afternoon.
