Permanent Fel Guard Hound Companion as any class

During the quest 'Shizz Work' in Hellfire Peninsula, you get a whistle to summon a Fel Guard Hound. I'm sure you all remember as one of the quests that involve digging through piles of... Y'know...

Once you've summoned the pet near the quest giver, it appears it will stay with you no matter where you go.

I've not been able to reproduce this myself as I'm unwilling to lose the pet testing, but if you have any problems this is the sequence that lead to me keeping it, it may shed some light on it.

While on the quest (2 of us, both with fel guards out), we had a LFD pop up, we entered and realised we still had the pet, cue curious comments from the repeated dungeons we did. At some point during the dungeons (We suspect when he dropped back to the beginning of Ramparts from the end) he lost his companion. Mine persisted the entire time. After multiple deaths and a relog, the fel guard persisted for me, and I'm now flying round Orgrimmar with it chasing me on the ground.

I'm unsure if me entering the LFD changed whether I kept the pet or not, but I figured it was worth a mention regardless.

Edit: I take back what I said about the felguard hound. It's name really is Fel Guard Hound. O.o

I love these pet exploits! With the new companion system there's so much room to abuse it. Too bad my main already has most of these quests that can be abused completed....nonetheless +4rep!

Edit2: I just hearthed and it stayed with me. It should work like any other companion pet too so if you lose it, it should come back after a relog.

This also happened to me when I bought a Cenerian Hatchling from a gold seller. The CC he used was bad and they removed the pet from all my toons, however, my banker alt had it summoned when I logged the night before and now its perm no matter where I go.

This quest is doable on alliance. You can take away the horde tag.

Yep, but the exact mobname here is a Fel Guard Hound. Its not a mistake on my part. I assume this is because its Fel, and a Guard Hound, rather than it being a Felguard. Someone else brought this up in the very first comment in the thread.

But the item is called "Felhound Whistle (Provided)". Just a misleading titled thread, that's all. Should've either named it "Fel Guard Hound Companion" or "Felhound Companion".

Like I said, it doesn't matter much, but it kinda ticks me off each time I see it because I'm like "Oooooh, cool, a Felguard." *open thread* "Goddamnit, it's just a stinking felpuppy."

sorry for pushing this really "old" topic, but did they fix it or am I just too stupid? Worked for me a long time, now the fkn dog dont want to stay near after I zoned out of the outlands
