Um, incase you havent noticed. In previous years it hasnt been working in arena. Its obviously a different Item ID and they havent added the "Not usable in arena" to it.

Spoke to a gm about it, the reason the Magic Broom can be used in arena is because "This mount changes depending on your riding skill and location." while the flying broom "Summons and dismisses a flying broom. Requires Level 60 and expert riding." The flying broom is a flying broom only and flying mounts can't be used in arena or battlegrounds.
