    Easy 2200+ in 2s

I was doing 2v1 today in 2s for fun because I am a total badass, and I noticed that when I lost I didn't lose any rating, even though I was at a higher MMR than my oponents. So if it continues this way you could potentially reach higher ratings and go as negative as you want.

Edit: Because you will lose alot your MMR will go down, but your rating will only go higher. So you face lower rated teams and gain rating regardless. You can get high rating through a high volume of games.

    Solo: 2K rating! (1v2 arenas) - YouTube

This DK seems to be able to do it. This is also the same DK that solo'd LK.

While i agree, it seems you actually face teams of a lower MMR the more you lose. Meaning while your team rating may be 2200 or whatever the teams you are fighting could potentially be pve scrubs with a 300mmr in which case they are totally solo-able, especially the stupid comps that exist down low. The thing to consider would be the discrepency between your and their team. If it is so large would you really get any points for a win? or would it be necessary to fight 2000 wins at 1pt a win to advance? some losing would be required to keep your mmr low, so it might be an incredible number of games needed.

i would say worth a test at the very least. I am logging on my warrior now to see the basics.

Preliminary tests show that although my Team MMR was higher than my opponents i lost no team rating when i lost, sad news is i havent won yet as most of the time people just want to join in for regular 2v2.

    Ok so 2 options here:

    • 1. I misunderstood your post, in which case I'm sorry.
    • 2. You do not understand how MMR and the rating system works in general. Allow me to elaborate:

MMR is your "estimated" rating. Rating is your current "physical" rating. You will gain 70-110 points per win if you physical rating is 200+ points away from your MMR or "estimated" rating. The closer you get to your MMR, the less points per win you get until you win ~12-15 points per game and lose the same amount (this is at almost the same rating and MMR). Also, if you lose games, but your rating is far below your MMR you will lose 0-5 points. The downside of this is that if you lose a game against a low rated team your MMR can drop by up to 150 points a game, meaning you will even out your rating and MMR sooner, resulting in less points won and more lost. So this is working as intended...

...Or it could be option #1

i really think it is option one.

When you lose you dont lose any Team/personal rating. as such you never have to worry about going down in rating. Rather you just are fighting fellow 300-500mmr teams (because of all the losses you did to drop your mmr) and each win vs then will increase your mmr slightly but should also gain points. Every loss against them will not lose you points so ultimately it is just grind out a few wins, lose a few to drop your mmr, grind out wins, lose to drop mmr; all the while rembering that when you lose a game your team rating will not drop.

The possible reason this would not work is simply that with such a low mmr and with mmr so low below team rating you still might not gain any or many points when you do win. It could take literally thousands of games at 1pt a game but it could be 15+/- pts a game as your mmr is similar to your opponents.

I really am not great on my mage, and warr it doesnt seem to be happening for me(only have tried about 3 games, all losses). my other account is out of time and i dont believe i am reactivating any time soon. We really just need a Boss PVP er to get on and test it out.

EDIT: i forgot to add, a while ago when i was more actively pvping (think season i can remember times where our team was so far ahead of theirs in rating that when we won we literally got 0 points. Could not tell you how MMR plays into that these days, but it could be a factor

I tried this one today. As an average rogue, not one of the best, i was very near wining several times, and got one win, although I lost more than 20. The point it, YOU STILL loose arena rating. From a team which had 1283 points, after 22 matches i ended up having 1179 points, and my MMR was damn low.

Prolly i might be doing smth wrong, or I dont know if there is a different rating calculations for you and for me.

Posted this after trying it on my priest too. Same. After loosing, you loose rating.
