Oddly enough, I killed him once, and then during the 2nd attempt he got to around 50%, submerged, and never re-emerged. However, I am still in combat and I can still see his "leg area" spinning around in the lava...

that is nothing to do with this exploit. That is a common bug that happens from time to time. If you kill the sons to fast he will submerge for longer.

Oh of course not, it will surely get fixed. But I don't think they might actually apply a hotfix at this moment. If it came to their attention (which it has) it will probably be fixed on the next scheduled maintenance because you can only exploit this once a week.

Was this fixed? Just did everything and no Majordomo respawn. Waited a good 5 minutes too.

Edit: I feign deathed instead of died, I suppose that doesn't hard reset the encounter. We just tried again and died this time, he reset and Majordomo respawned! +rep and confirmed!
