Druid - Wild Mushroom

So while questing in Silithus on an alt of mine, I was being camped by a member of the opposing faction around 5 levels above me. Eventually I decided to get some payback, so I log onto my druid and set it up in Cenarion Hold so I can log over quickly if need be and destroy him.

It worked a charm the first few times, outside the walls of Cenarion Hold, but eventually he got the picture and moved inside the hold and was hiding behind the 85 guards, which happened to 2 shot me every time I wanted to kill him.

The 3rd time, as he was /dance-ing in front of me, and next to the guard, I decided I would set up some wild mushrooms around him. He continued to dance, and I proceeded to detonate.

Amazing stuff, he drops dead, and the guards DO NOT ATTACK ME! I killed him twice again with my wild mushrooms, and the guards did not attack me. Any damage that was not caused with Wild Mushroom of course, would set them off. Tonight I trialled again in Cenarion Hold, and the guards still don't attack me.

I'm sure that this isn't just specific to Cenarion Hold and could be used in Gadgetzan/Ratchet/Booty Bay/Everlook also, and other cross-faction zones where PVP is possible (with deadly repercussions.)

Long Story Short,
If you're a druid, and there's a place you can attack the enemy (but the guards will pwn you after) - Just use Wild Mushroom, as the guards won't mind.

I play on a US PVP realm, so sorry mate, can't help you with that one, experiment and let us know!


It's unfortunate that it doesn't do enough damage to really hurt other 85's, since places like Rahkahen are ideal because you can just wait for them to port onto your mushrooms, Mt Hyjal has been the best so far because you get a lot of 80/81's and sometimes I can get them in 2 detonations (6 mushrooms.) I still chase 85's around and although it's the same as throwing feathers at them with their hp's, it's rather funny when they attack you back and get annihilated! haha.

A few other druids have caught on to this on my realm, and well setting off 6 or 9 mushrooms at once is a lot more effective! Maybe camp some places like this in a group of 5 druids if you have nothing to do? Worth a try anyway.

Just a side note, if you're in Gadgetzan and they run to the Flightmaster, unless you're resto and GOOD at resto, it's probably best you don't proceed to detonate,

Works amazing! Much thanks, and to add for Ramkahen, yes you can do it but you have to be careful because guards will aggro if hit by the explosion, they wont aggro if it hits just the target your going for but yes if it hits both.
