More Savage Leather Farming and Cata Arctic Fur Equivalent

Pristine Hide - Droprate: 0.6% - Pristine Hide - Item - World of Warcraft

Landlocked Grouper - NPC - World of Warcraft

Hmm what level of skinning does this require?

(The formula for requirement is the level of the mob multiplied by 5. To determine the level of mobs which you may skin, it would be the skinning skill you have divided by 5)

Well, as I read that thread a while ago, I didn't know he added this mob to the thread three hours ago. Therefore, I skipped that looking at the thread while searching for reposts :P

after waiting up to play i went and leveled my professions and googled where to find this new leather to skin. about an hr into the game start i see it posted that someone has just gained their max at skinning of 525..... i had yet to even reach the mob. so i googled it again as my mind is screaming there is no way this could be right. i found a post of someone that had been leveling their skinning since the 29th. im more than a bit irked by this and wondering how this was possible?

Thats not possible. Even by farming these groupers which drop the cata leather, they aren't high enough for you to actually level your skinning. Furthermore, it isn't possible to even get the training for the profession pre-cata. And finally, it's really easy to get that to 525. The first herbalist on my server was in the first half an hour.
