If you use Blessing of Ancient Kings while you were dueling (a ret for eg) would get the stacking strength buff up to 20% if you then join the bg while you still have the buff you will still have it when you enter even if your guardian is not there.

The buff is removed on death, though.

I'm guessing he's saying use your guardian of ancient kings in a duel, stack the buff to 20%, join a bg, it stays until death.
