Go straight to heroics after dinging 85

Ok so I got horribored by farmign instances after I dinged 85 for the gear to queue heroics, so I went and tried to buy gear to hit 329 itemlevel average. And I noticed that there are LOADS of items to buy from quartermasters, even with rep as low as honored - and even if they're not items you actually need they will count towards your average itemlevel. I bought leather, mail, dps gear and went from 326 to 331!

I guess this might not be an exploit, but its a neat trick and I didn't know anywhere else to post it! Enjoy

Hah! I figured this out like an hour ago. Was gonna post it but didn't think it was an exploit since it's "working as intended" You're just using it to get a work around.

AIL is weird. They shouldn't include inventory items because your best AIL "set" could be a mix of healing and tank gear and please don't walk into a dungeon with healer gear as a tank. xD

Average item level also counts gear in your bank. It's really annoying for hybrids.

This is good for DPS but not so good for a healer such as myself, I also wouldn't recommend a tank doing this either or you will spend a lot on repairs lol.

Tbh this is not an exploit, blizzard intented this as the way it is. They maybe didnt think that cloth gear as prot pala wouldnt be good but still its working as intented. And second of all, the average ilevel cap is there for a reason, believe me!

The thing about it. As long as your group is ccing/notbeingstupid. The fresh gear you get at 85 is enough to do heroics. I'm still pulling more DPS than anyone else I group up with. *shrug*

No that is not 'working as intended, they put the minimum requirement of gear there so that people would have a certain amount of stats to enter the dungeon; if people are entering the dungeon with lower than those stats it is therefor 'not' working as intended.

All I did was quest and 4 instances while levelling, and I started doing heroics soon as I dinged 85. Successfully also. If you need something like this, you're doin it wrong.
