Permanent "Doomsday Messenger" sign on your chest

I wouldn't consider this to be an exploit, but it is a pretty awesome cosmetic trick.

In the Pre-Cataclysm events for horde (I'm sure there is a similar quest for alliance) you get the "Spreading the Word" quest which gives you the "Doomsday Message" item in your inventory that you are supposed to use at all the zeppelin towers. The item puts a buff on your character that puts a giant double sided board on your chest and back with writing on it. This buff DOES persist through death, and the item doesn't take up any equipment slots. It looks like if you DO NOT finish the quest, you get to keep the item indefinitely!

There is no "expiration" on the item, and it is currently unknown if the dev's are going to take it out of the game after Cataclysm releases. Since the quest really doesn't give you any reward at the end, why not keep a giant sign on your chest for now on letting everyone know how awesome you are?

I'm looking and I'm looking but I can't seem to find the exploit anywhere in this thread, and as this is the exploit section I bet there is one hidden somewhere in the thread. Oh yeah and I can't seem to find anything useful either, the rules clearly states and I quote " [NO "USELESS"] " but it's probably just me who can't find it since I bet everyone took their time to read the rules.

Nice dude, I did have a personal bet with myself that someone would fly up here with some negativity within 30 minutes of making the post. The reason I posted it under "Exploits" instead of "Guides" was that I doubt Blizzard intends on people keeping quest items on purpose as opposed to completing the quest. It's no more "Useless" than having Noggenfogger or Deviate fish, which are both very popular for cosmetics. The only reason I posted this was that I thought it was pretty cool, and that MAYBE someone else would get some enjoyment out of this considering that I get comments during BG's all the time over it. Thank you sir for your passive aggressiveness, I'm sure it doesn't get you shoved in lockers all the time during your middle school career.

I'll remember to never try contributing to this community again without anything short of "YOU CAN SOLO THE LICH KING IN HARD MODE 25 MAN! WHILE YOU SLEEP!! WHILE RIDING NEFARIAN AS A FLYING MOUNT! SCREEN SHOTS!"

Well, that's not where I got it. I figured it out while queuing for BG's while doing the quest line. That's pretty much the gist of it though.

Neither am I negative or aggressive, just pointing out the rules. On the other hand you seem to have a really short temper and this is pretty much common sence for anyone who do the quests but it's great that you want to contribute but don't contribute with useless topics, this is not the section for useless. I do believe that you should look up the meaning of the word exploit because you don't seem to know what you're talking about. This is not an exploit. Oh and I didn't post within 30 minutes of the original post so you lost the bet, Good job.

That's really unnecessary. A simple "The rules state no useless and this seems useless" would suffice. You've been around since '07 yet have somehow managed to contribute absolutely nothing to the community, barring the hateful condescending messages. You're lucky the [NO "USELESS"] rule doesn't apply to posters.

It has nothing to do with me having a short temper. This is the first time I've tried to contribute to the site, even though I have been reading it for years. Every time I try to see someone post something whether it be useful or otherwise, the bad parts of the community (i.e. YOU) immediately jump on them screaming "REPOST!" or "THIS ISNT USEFUL!" or "YOU FAIL ROFFLENOOBBB!!!" I donate to the site, so I'm not even trying to leech rep, because I really just don't care. I just thought it would be nice to share something that I've been enjoying for the past couple of days, don't see anyone else doing, and doesn't look like a repost.

Oh and by the way... It's "sense" not "sence" and "anyone who does the quest" not "anyone who do the quest."

Talking about useless. Now I have to post another useless post in this useless topic because of you. See, that's unnecessary my friend. I was being sincere though, maybe I just couldn't see the exploit, did you ever think of that? I would contribute if I had anything to contribute with, I'm not a coder neither am I looking for exploits on a daily basis but if I ever find an exploit which isn't a respost or useless I will make mmowned the first to be aware. So take your sorry comments somewhere they belong. Who says that I haven't contributed with anything? Just because I don't have alot of fancy rep doesn't mean that I don't contribute aight.

Hey Deathgasm, there's this thing called "ignore". It's available on pretty much every forum in existence.

Always remember, these types of people spend lots of time trying to figure out how best to annoy/irritate anyone they come across online. BUT, they are just faceless blips on the monitor that have no effect on your real life. They mean nothing to you, Therefore they can't hurt you.

Purely cosmetic change applicable because you didn't finish a quest.

Provided you can find a way to keep the item/buff after abandoning the quest, I'll give you rep, but if you need to keep the quest, then when they remove the quest from the game, you might lose it anyway.

Yea, you can't keep the item if you abandon the quest... But hell, I've had "Kolkar Leaders" in my quest log for 2 years just so I can link "Barak's Head" in tradechat.
