Get OOC in 2secs (Vid Included)

i know this bug since tbc and its still working with 3.3.3.

it's very easy to use ->

When you kill a NPC, you'll automatically get ooc after 2secs (only works when you're fighting against an enemy player).

    step1: kill a npc
    step2: wait 2secs
    step3: -> ooc

especially if your an engineer, you can use your "hand-mounted-pyro-rocket" after cc'ing an enemy. then you'll get ooc and can regg, mount up, restealth or whatever.

it's very helpful in openpvp and in duels aswell

enjoy! (sorry for my english )

edit: I attached an unlisted video, it should look like this:

//edit: still works with 4.0.1 EU Live & Cata Beta

no, i say if you're dueling, you can kill a lvl10 boar or a rabbit and after 2secs you automatically get ooc (even when the enemyplayer attacked you 1sec before)

perhaps i'll upload a video tomorrow to make it clear

if that actually works, that's amazing x 10. But i doubt it works the way you're explaining it. I would love confirmation.

I'd like to see a warlock dot you up, you kill a level 10 boar, then get out of combat with the dots still on you. If that works, i'll rep you ++++

This is my first post in 1 year and 2 months.

Basically, what dazzidrood is saying is that if you're in combat with an enemy player, killing something else (like a level 10 mob) will take you out of combat 2 seconds later, EVEN IF THE PLAYER IS STILL ATTACKING YOU.

You have to CC the enemy(player), then kill the mob and then you are OOC. Atleast thats what the post says.

no i said you CAN CC the enemy player, because mostly you will get back into combat if you don't CC the player.

Any more flames will result in infractions. Keep it on topic and try the damn thing out before QQing all over the place.

This makes sense (how I understand it to work). Normally, when attacking a player, or being attacked by a player, it takes 5 seconds (sometimes it seems like 6 due to latency) to be removed from combat.

    However...
You are removed from combat much more quickly when you kill something in PvE (1-2 seconds). My guess is this:

Say Player A attacks Player B. Only 1 second has passed. Player B then attacks, and kills, a mob. 1-2 seconds later, he will leave combat. I'll add an additional note: After you kill the NPC, but before you would leave combat, you cannot be attacked by the enemy player again. This will put you into combat. That's why CC is important.

How do I know this? On my Pally, if I get low on health during world PvP, I'll try to LoS a player and see if I can't kill that mob using Divine Storm and Judgement to gain some life and get some mana back. I've never once left combat because of it.

I frequently hit and kill little mobs while engaging in world PvP with Divine Storm just because they happened to be there. If the player keeps attacking you, you will remain in combat. This much I know.

The test to see if this really works is to see if, after killing an NPC and neither attacking, nor being attacked, you are removed from combat after 2 seconds.

Edit: After some screwing around, it seems like whether it takes you out of combat or not while you're being attacked all depends on the timing.
Did you get hit, like, 0.25s before you would have left combat from the mob? Sorry, but you're stuck in combat.
Did the last combat action occur 1 or 2 seconds before you would leave combat from the mob? You should be in the clear.

Well the flamers are really idiots sometimes.

Nice exploit, not great for me since im on an RP realm, but i can imagine on those pvp realms getting ganked at some point, quickly nuke a mob, ooc, mount and leg it. +rep

To me this qualifies as a valid exploit. Instead of waiting on the timer to go OOC on a pvp target, it switches to the timer to go OOC after killing a mob which may only be a second or two versus 5-7 seconds or so. That is -huge- but as it stands, it's practicality is questionable. You can only use this in duels with other people near other mobs, or if you're lucky enough, world pvp.

I don't say this much at all, so soak it up.

    Nice find.
