Hello!
Last week me and my friend wanted new alts, so we did the RaF thing and our friend boosted us to 60.
Now to the exploit: This exploit lets you level to 60 with recruit a friend, without paying for the new account. I discovered this by a mistake when trying to upgrade to a standard account.
This is how to do it:
-Recruit a friend, or yourself if you can multibox.
(Note that the recruited account will not be able to play if not upgrading legit after this, so i recommend doing this with yourself)
-Get to level 20, now the exploit starts.
-Upgrade to standard account, and right after that, just cancel the payment. Now you will be able to continue to level past level 20, this is possible because when you upgrade, blizzard lets you level over the restriction without receiving your payment. So you will be able to get to 60, but not trade or whisper and stuff like that.
-Now to the downside, you will have to level fast, because they will lock your account in about 5 days (Took that time for me). So having a booster is recommended.
When they lock your account, you will recive a email, saying that they locked your account for security reasons and stuff like that.
Now you have two options, call Blizzard and get your account unlocked or just leave the account and continue to play on your main-account with the new level 60 character.
If you call Blizzard, you will be in queue in about 30mins if you are lucky (Yes, lucky) Then when they finally answer, they will ask you for your email, your last name, the answer to your SQ, and the last 4 digits from the credit card you were "trying" to pay with. So make sure you have this information ready when calling if you do that.
I hope this was usefull to you, and that you understand.
Otherwise, let me know ^^
EDIT: Okay, I will try to clear up some questions.
To cancel a upgrade, simply log in to your account and cancel your subscription.
You are able to do this over and over again, but i do not recommend to do that.
You can do the same with Burning Crusade, and enter Outlands.
Chickensoup asked: "Is it possible to have your main account that recruits the "free" account to get banned? And is it possible that the credit card you use to upgrade the free account and then cancel to get in trouble or get charged?"
The main account will not get banned (But Blizzard can ban you for anything, so use at own risk), I can also recommend you to use a diffrent IP when upgrading the free account.
If you cancel your order correctly, you will not get charged.
abomino666 asked: "Read the fine-print . The accounts are linked and you both gain triple experience as long as you are both the same level, grouped together, and in range of each other. If you are both different levels, the lower level individual will get the triple experience."
You are going to multibox, you will be the same level.
benevan asked: "do not do this... if it doesnt charge you and you are able to continue to play it will b cased as "credit card/payment fraud" and can result in legal issues... i beg you not to try..."
You are still able to play because you have 10 free days on the trial account, you do not get playtime. So it's not a "credit card/payment fraud", I would call it clever use of game mechanics, or something like that. Basically you are just cancelling a payment.
I hope that clears some questions, feel free to ask if you are still wondering something.
