[Exploit] How to get easy Frost Badges through LFG

I hate doing the daily everyday, just because it can take up to 45 mins, dependent on how fail your group is. Anyways, I'm not sure if this is an exploit or not but this is how I get into noob runs very easy.

The LFG system looks at the gear you have and it adds you to a queue for a heroic.

What I do is, remove all my gear and queue up. I've gotten into countless UK, Nex, AN, and UP runs.

Thought I'd share this with the MMOwned community and I hope you like it as much as I do. This is a VERY easy way to get an easy heroic for your frost badges.

Nice idea mate, only thing is that although easy, instances like UK and such are just as long as others but it does make sure you're not going to get the Icecrown ones I guess.

The queue's are random. You are just as likely to get someone with a very high gearscore. But, with low level gear (no items on), you can't get into the higher ones.

This works great if you do this w/ a geared friend or two.

Sadly, you've just had luck. It's been said by a blue that gear in your inventory - and even in your bank - counts for the gear required for certain instances.

working as intended. if higher gear people are Qing up, you will get in quicker with gear on. if noobs are Qing, you will get in quicker...

LFG actually looks at the gear you've used previously in runs. It doesn't base you on your gear you currently have equipped.
So yeah, this won't work.

This won't work. Simply because the lfg tool for example looks which gear you have in your inventory. Can see this with an alt; crap gear not allowed to go heroics; one new item in inv that pushes average ilvl >160 and the first heroics are available.

How the system works (I had an alt ding 80 recently so i experimented around with what happens)

1) You are full green geared (read - just dinged). You cant get into hard heroics (or heroics at all)

2) You get some high iLvl stuff (i bought some green +spirit crap to replace heirlooms to get average iLvl up) and equip it - some options unlock, allowing you to queue for these instances

3) You unequip these high iLvl items and equip back the gear you used in (1). You are STILL ABLE to queue up for "hard" instances.

4) You vendor the green +spirit items (while not having them equipped even). You cant join the "hard" instances anymore.

5) You buyback the items, even without equipping, you can join again. Because game recorded what you can have using gear available.


In short: Good idea, but yes, just luck, wont work. As long as you have gear in bags/bank that you have equipped before, it will count as if you had it equipped

Well, I once did random and I got HoL, well the group was decent, but the tank itself had 20.7k HP unbuffed, or 2500GS. And I had 5.4k GS back than. And I doubt the tank was def capped cause at 1st boss without Lightning thingy (30% increased damage) the tank got 2 shotted almost>.< So yea I think LFG system can be pretty much ****ed up. And I think grouping with a PvP with around 4.5-4.8k GS is as bad as grouping with a dps with 3k GS cause they cant do shit dps. >.<

And yea, the new hc's I would say the minimum GS requirement should be 4.5k+ gs requirement since the bosses got lots of health and deal pretty much damage, and doing this with fudged up geared healer = Instant wipe or tank that get's pawned at last boss cause of Unholy Power. >.< And yea I've seen 3.x GS people entering in (Blue gear)

I +repped you for this. I couldn't have explained it better because this is THE TRUTH. Sorry guys, no exploit here, unless you feel like vendoring your epics to get out of doing ToC/ICC heroics. Personally, I wouldn't because I get random DC's, and opening a ticket to get my epics back and explaining I didn't want a hard heroics feels quite silly.

Meh, I'm always have trouble using the queue's. I have 5.55KGS, and I always get placed as a healer in groups ranging from 3 to 4K gearscore. I realy hate it.

as a tank with 6084gs i've almost never had people under 5000....
