Practice on Lich King 10/25man w/o getting saved!

About my second contribute here sad but yet again something of use.

Tried to find with various titles. Couldn't find anything related to this exploit.

First week:
1. Clear to Lich King, leave him only alive, or kill if your guild is fortunate enough. (which probably makes this useless)
2. Get some useless alt saved to that instance id and extend the raid period with him.

The next resets / week(s) after that:
3. (Extend the "useless alts" raid.)
4. Log with the useless alt collect the raid with him, get everyone inside the instance, go practice on him. (KILLING him ofc. will make you saved.)
When I entered the instance with my main character, I did NOT get a confirm box if I wanted to get saved. And that character was not the one that I had extended the lock period.
5. If you think you cant slay the bastard, fine... just disband the raid. Let someone that is not the "useless alt" gather the raid and push [reset all instances] with him. This will reset the instance and you can go clear it from the start!

7. Frost Badges aka. Profit!

Guessing this technique wont work on HM since there are limited attempts there (which would make this a PROFITABLE THEORY!), lose 1 attempt = get saved to the instance. But on normal mode it's a charm!

Ps. Did not kill the circling valkyires.

Sadly that's the weird part _MY GROUP DID NOT GET SAVED!_ (tho we did not kill the bastard either.. defile aint funny.) shall modify that for you to understand a little better.

i think you dont understand it , what he is referring about getting saved is after all those attempts and IF they kill then you are saved. Otherwise if you can't kill and tired of multiple attempts just kick that alt from group and reset/regroup again.

It takes quite a while to clear up to Lich king as far as I know :P So it might be a good thing if you just wanna practice, aint a lootwhore, and don't have infinite time ^^

Cleared upto lich on tuesday, (wed reset), and our rl extended the instance so we could go kill this week. we entered the instance but none of us got the confirm box if we wanted to get saved (was a bit confused..) anyway, after he wiped us against the floor for quite a while we called it. then out of curiosity i wanted to check if we did get saved (/raidinfo did not say anythin of a lock.) so i reset all my instances & entered with a friend, there was marrowgar standing at the end of the tunnel.

Im guessing quite much that its not intentional to be able to practice on the last boss w/o getting saved since there is nothing else left.

Yeah can confirm this.
Lately our guild has had terrible turnouts any day other than wednesday so we decided to extend the lockout this week and finally kill him, and we didnt get saved till he died (except the RL who extended it).

You could, in theory, do this on any boss. The key is getting a guinea pig alt locked to that raid ID. On Tuesday, that alt forms the raid, extends the lockout and you continue on practicing on your boss, until you are ready to try a kill, reforming under a different raid, sans the alt. I would like to know if you can do this on heroic, essentially doubling your heroic attempts to 70.

The exploit is that you kill all but the last and rinse-repeat.
