    Checking for instance rare spawns.

Ok, some may already know about this, however I will post it anyway. I have done a brief search but I have not found anything relating to this....

Ok, well who here is sick of running an instance over and over in hopes of getting an item from a rare spawn in that instance? After 30 minutes of being in the instance, slaving away to reach the rare spawns spawn point, no luck. It's not there. Again. So you have to repeat the process all over again.

Well, now you don't have to waste time to check to see if a rare spawn is in the instance. (not for some of them anyway )

What you do is, as soon as you get into the instance, say stockades, the rare spawn's name is Bruegal Ironknuckle, so at the entrance type "/target Bruegal".

If he is there, you should target him and bring up his health bar and portrait, if not, just leave the instance and reset the instance (right click your face up the top of the screen, then reset the instance), and go back into the instance and try again.

This has worked for me for Bruegal Ironknuckle of Stockades (/target Bruegal) and Deathsworn Captain of Shadowfang Keep(/target Deathsworn). However it won't work for ALL rare spawns, some you need to get a bit farther into the instance before you can see if they are there or not.

If anyone knows of any other spawns this applies to, please post sharing is caring.
Also here is a pic of my char with the rare gear I got from the Deathsworn Captain (Sorry, I was trying to get a picture of me using this exploit on Bruegal, but he didn't spawn.)

    http://img518.imageshack.us/img518/2...7053018ho2.jpg

    So basically

    -Enter instance

    -type "/target [rare spawn name]

-IF he is there, go after him, LGM, or whatever.

-If he is not there, leave instance

-Restart all instances (Right click your portrait, restart instances)

    -Try again.

Thanks everyone (This is my first post, suggestions and advice would be great). Have fun with this. (Also Deathsworn may drop ASSASSIN'S BLADE, a 19 twink item that sells for 100-200g+)

Isn't the target range limited? As in you can't /target across the entire instance?

It is, maybe that limit doesn't apply in an instance.

There is a way to change your tab range maybe it works with /target

bad tip, /target has a range meaning this would only be usefull in stockades =)

Re: Checking for instance rare spawns.

No, the targeting range actually does have a range limit. I've extended the tab target range, but thats not the same as the /target.

On track with this, In UBRS, standing at the top of the stairs in the entry hall between UBRS and LBRS, you can target what's his face that drops the reed trinket everyone used to love. However, blacksomething or other the rarespawn in LBRS requires you to be almost halfway into the instance, as he's at the back corner. This doesn't work for the flute guy in strat, as none of his spawns are close enough to the front.

Re: Checking for instance rare spawns.

/target does have a range limit, that is why I said it would only work with some from the entrance.

And also, if you are near the rare spaw, such as the start of a cave, you can check to see if it is there without actually entering the cave.

Here is a screenshot I got today.

Re: Checking for instance rare spawns.

Yeah, this works on small instances.

Not going to be able to see if the the rare miner is up in VC or anything....
