Do HC Occulus for the Blue Drake without the other random HCs

You may be aware that a blue drake mount now drops in HC Occulus but only if it is picked as the random HC dungeon, you can fix the random dungeon finder to get the dungeon you want, in this case HC Occ, but you can also do this to do your Emblems of frost in a ICC 5 man to try for battered hilt.

When you have entered a random HC, if you watch the loading screen you can tell which dungeon is coming up, if you don't like it: hold alt and F4, you will be saved to that dungeon and 15 mins later you can enter another without clearing any bosses.

The beauty of this is that the random HC finder has less chance of giving you an HC your saved to, so you can fix which instance it will random by deserting other players then trying again. If your a tank or a healer and you get instant queues, consider doing this if you no longer need triumph

what the hell is HC? this is not an exploit. working as intended. you said it yourself. theres no dungeon "saving" when you go the LFD either.

Okay prehaps i was not clear enough in my explanation: when you leave a group you do not get saved to an ID, when you alt + F4 you do.

This means you can just get the loading screen, leave via DC then your saved so you won't get that HC again (well the probabiblty of getting it lowers)

Well, They just introduced it today with patch day... They are trying to give incentive to get people to not leave when H OCC pops in a random. And it is so true, I am tired of getting a random OCC and 2-3 people leaving asap. Even then, when the rest of us reque and the spots get filled, even subsequent people leave and take 15 min deserter...

Anyway, I understand what the poster is saying but it seems like it might not be worth fighting through a ton of 15 min deserter buffs just to get H OCC -- PLUS, you don't get saved to dungeons just by entering them, only by the first boss kill... I am pretty sure the random only lessens the chance if you are actually saved.

So, this kind of seems like a theory to me but a very flawed one. Thanks for trying though I suppose lol

i disagree. being saved does not increase the chance of getting some other dungeon. the random dungeon finder ignores lockouts. Ive had nexus 3 times in just 2 ours. its still completely random.

what your sayin is like saying an item with a 1% drop rate always drops if you kill 100 mobs.

And also, I am not sure how you get saved by alt-f4? How is this different from a D/C? Are you saying that they will clear and kill the first boss while you are still in the group? Anyway, in my experience, if someone is d/c'd in the beginning -- we wait the couple of minutes, maybe clear a little trash and then VOTE KICK them asap. In randoms you don't run around hoping they will come back cause you know there is a warm body ready to replace em...

So, I still am not clear on how this would work...

Maybe I've just been lucky usually being paired up with pretty good players but... why would you rather take a 15 minute penalty and be entertained by the various incarnations of anal____ word combinations the 'we never sleep peanut gallery' can come up with in trade chat. Where btw, you earn zero badges/emblems of any type instead of just running the dungeon you were given and blow thru it and move on to the next.

Maybe I'm not good at judging time but given instances like NEXUS, UK, UP, HOL and such they blow by pretty darn quick... I'd be shocked if the runs took more than 20-25 minutes. So, given you are forced to sit out for 15 minutes anyway... for a extra 5 or 10 you get some gold and apx 5-7 extra emblems of triumph.
