Easy Skyshattered Achievement for People with 310% Speed Fliers

Okay... Not a repost, in spite of similar title.

What you need:

310% speed flier.

Iron Boot Flask.

1. Mount up on your 310% speed flier OUTSIDE Netherwing Ledge.

2. Use the Iron Boot Flask WHILE MOUNTED.

3. Fly to Netherwing Ledge.

Normally, your 310% flyer will be replaced with a 280% Dragonmaw Netherdrake. This prevents that.

You cannot mount while affected by the IBF but you can use the IBF while already mounted. Normally when you approach NWL, you "remount" in midair with the Dragonmaw Netherdrake. However, with the IBF active, you cannot "remount" and so you are able to ride around Netherwing Ledge on your normal mount. Thus, your 310% flier is not replaced by a 280% flier.

This would probably work with a DK with the talent "On a Pale Horse" or a Paladin with Crusader Aura to increase a 280% mount to >310% speed.

i tried it today, it works
but .. i didnt got dismounted anymore (is this intended?), with or without the flask so i didnt need it anyway ;D

just tried and it works yea, I also noticed when getting hit by the firebombs that you didn't get dismounted, however it did put me on a 280% mount after getting hit

Before WotLK you could have had a pally in a group with you and used his aura to win. Hell I was a Hunter and I was able to do this without any speed enchancement other than the riding crop, which they changed to lvl 70 and below now.

Its not really hard anymore since blizzard removed dismounts from Knockbacks, now it just stuns for a little bit or knocks you down as they call it.

Its so easy now its almost laughable, but thanks for the hint on 310% mount might help that ones that still struggle with this quest after the huge nerf

Should read better next time. Was thinking I replied to the other post about the knocbacks.. It's now pissin' easy with the knockbacks no longer dismounting you in 3.3.
