"Ignore" Emalon adds.

Pretty easy really.

The overcharged blast spell which the emalon adds casts once they reach 10 stacks reads

Overcharged Blast
Instant
Causes the caster to explode, unleashing a pulse of energy that deals 9250 to 10750 Nature damage to enemies within 50000 yards.

With 10 stacks I believe they deal 240% damage, Sooo lets say it deals average 11k damage, 240% of 11k is about 25,000. Now, this obviously isn't THAT much, but it will most likely wipe everyone but your tanks.

Now for the fun part. Divine Sacrifice is a 11pt prot talent for Paladins. If you spend 2 more talents to improve it, it causes a 40% raid "shield wall" for 10 seconds. If you use this while in bubble, it will last for a total 10 seconds, absorbing 40% damage from everyone in the raid. (Until the "nerf" in 3.3 anyway).

Now for the "highly advanced math" part.

40% reduction of 25,000 is 10,000 damage. This means the Overcharged blast will deal just about 15,000 damage to the raid: Which means everyone SHOULD survive. Since he doesn't cast Lightning Nova before atleast 10 seconds after this blast, that means the raid should be perfectly able to survive this.

Most raids has atleast 2-3 Paladins, this means the raid can more or less ignore DPS on the adds 2-3 times, making Emalon piss easy and also making the fight last shorter.

Might not be the most huge trick ever, however it's a neat trick to, well, perhaps make it even more speed run..

True that, however I do experience some **** ups when playing on various alts and in pugs. And, it would be kinda fun to do this also. Basically it's just a way to shorten the fight, make it more.. interesting, perhaps?

Too complicated in my opinion, its just easier to nuke the add down which takes like ~5secs anyway. +1 rep for the effort of coming up with this though!

Apparently you didnt read the specifics on the spell careful enough, look here;
40% of all damage taken by party or raid members within 30 yards is redirected to the Paladin
(up to a maximum of 150% of the Paladin's health). Lasts 10 sec.
So lets say the paladin has 20k HP, the spell will then absorb a total of 30k damage.
You said the blast did 25k dmg, reduced by 40% we have 15k damage left.

Each player in the raid will take 15k damage, and there is 25 people in it.
Thats a total of 375k damage spread over the whole raid,
you can take away 30k which your paladin absorbed, saving only 2 people.

Sorry to burst your bubble (pun intended), but if you use it while inside Divine Shield, i.e bubble, it lasts the full duration, so it doesn't get capped at 150% of the paladins health.

Not an exploit. This is an intended mechanic. If you're gonna argue and say that Divine Sacrifice not being capped while in a bubble is an exploit, then that should have been your thread. Either way, pretty common sense.

And to all of you haters, no it isn't easier burning the Emalon add. Especially in a pug. You run the risk of wiping due to bad dps/inadequate target switching. This method is as easy as using a simple macro:

If you have enough Paladins to do this (I'd say 4-5), then why not? It means a much faster Emalon kill.

Hence why I placed a "WoW Tricks" tag on the thread. Might be common sense, but I've never seen a pug do it, or anyone talk about doing it. so meh.

The reason you don't see PuGs do it is because it requires your raid group to rely on one person to actually press that macro those two times. If he doesn't, you all die.

This is a good tactic to use when you are with a group of people that you trust will do their job well.
