It is not as simple as the topic title suggest but here goes.

What you need;
An account that already has Grunty and is merged into a Battle.net account.
An account with the characters you wish to obtain Grunty on unmerged.

Simply merge your fresh account to the Battle.net account, log into that new account take the pet from the mail and learn it (do the same for all chars) and then proceed to migrate the characters away from the account to another one if need be.

There is a 30 day CD on moving characters away from the merged Battle.net account so please be aware of this.

I want to know what excuse you have, because once they realized the potential of BNet merging for scammers, they allowed accounts to be unmerged if someone reported being hacked.

I wouldn't claim someone scammed you and merged them. Then it would seem like the account that originally had Grunty is the scammers account; and then they would be banned.
