so you think it is intended that you get the ony(60) achievement for killing ony(80) and looting her OR killing an entirely different boss?

If they wanted to make the FoS not attainable, they'd have simply tied the FoS to the original achievement to kill the lv60 Onyxia, instead of tying the FoS to the items that still drop, or the quest that's still completable.

The original Onyxia achievement was linked to those items due to blizzard trying to give players the achievement retroactively when the achievement system first launched. They have done this to all level 60 forty-man encounters (Ragnaros, Nefarion, etc).

For the 20 mans they only checked if you had completed the quest from the boss, such as the heart of Hakkar, otherwise you had to kill it again.

When they created the FoS, they would have simply renamed it and changed its category.
It seems as though they forgot to remove the gear criteria for it.

They did not make a new achievement for it (It still has the old achievement ID).

Except this still isn't an exploit. You're not doing anything to exploit the system, you're just killing a boss that is intended to be killed and getting an achievement that is not intended to be gotten.

It is a bug and a repost. That doesn't mean it's not a +Repable post but don't call it something it isn't.

by killing nefarian for the purpose of getting the ony achievement you're exploiting the bug. so this is an exploit.
