Despawn Archers in AV as Horde - Rogue Only.

Before I start I've searched for all threads under "av" "despawn" "archers" and haven't found anything similar listed.

As a rogue, when you go to attack a tower in AV...

-Start by sapping one of the archers
-Go around and cap the flag without aggroing
-As soon as the tower goes contested all the archers

Archers are gone for good, even if alliance retake the tower.
I found this is especially helpful for Dun Baldar North and South as it allows your team to fight further up without having to worry about archers.

Despawn Archers in AV as Horde - Rogue Only.

Well, actually here is a tip to add to this -- because this was well known on my server and crucial to your tip.

Archers in towers WILL only despawn if they have not spotted anyone on Horde sider ever, so GL with IWB and SHB on that one. BUT, North and South Bunkers you will have better luck.

The archers will only despawn AFTER Balinda has been killed. If you apply the trick before that they will not despawn. Heads up.

I will give you a cookie since I couldn't find anything on this in a search either, but I did think it was common knowledge, at least on my server.

My experience has been that they will despawn regardless of whether or not they've spotted someone, as long as they're not spotting someone the moment the flag is capped.

Alright, well then have you also noticed it only works AFTER balinda has been killed too?

Can't say I've ever payed attention to that. I'll go check.

Edit: We always kill Balinda before I get there. =(

    This tip is Old.

This tip is so old it regards the Amish as "techno-hippies"

This tip used a bit of Lot's wife on a nice soft pretzel.

Actually it IS possible for druids as well, it just requires a hell of a lot of positioning before capping the flags, been doing it on my druid the last couple of times.

Just be sure to be out of sight from all archers, and you're good to go...

It's possible for any class. Run into a tower and cap it then run away. As soon as none of the archers on that tower are in combat they will despawn. Works for alliance/horde and doesn't matter if a captain is dead or not. No exploit here.

Yes, this is exactly how it works. As long as the tower is turned gray, and the Archer is not in combat... it will despawn. No other factors matter. As long as the tower is turned and any moment an Archer is out of combat at that point, it despawns. It's how I've capped numerous towers on my rogue for ages now.

Just run into a tower with no one around, cap the flag using line of sight, and vanish. The Archers drop combat as long as no one else is in their range, and they despawn. Simple.
