Its me or it look like a repost?.. I'm doing this since few months already sorry.

Why not ask the posters above you? Looks like some of them also believe (and provide proof) that this in fact is a repost in a way. The mechanics are obviously the exact same only the tools are different (ledge, gate, stump, whatever).

Still I must agree that after a short search ( and that actually means 1 shot every 45 seconds) I had a hard time finding the original Thread linked in this one.


So Thanks alot for sharing, OP, but still it 'only' represents an addition to the original method itself.

If you run out of the gate to reset and then pull again, you can't run out of the gate to drop combat again. It only works once. Just jump on the ledge (or the stump, or the pot) to reset again.

I don't even have to move once aggro drops and then aggro is picked up again. Then again being a mage does help when you can't solo anything thanks blizz give all the other classes a mount and only us if we can run around for 30 mins.

I tried the stump method again since some of you said it was more reliable now. I did not have good results. I tried just clearing the one axe thrower nearest and pulling, but when the boss and boss adds ran past, they kept pulling the other axe throwers on the left, who would not drop combat when i got on the stump. I killed some tigers in the way also, and the group still pulled.

So, I appreciate that the stump method works for you guys, but I'm going to keep using my method, personally. It's easy and always works on the third try.

Also, Gunk's suggestion to move back and forth really helps reset the encounter faster. Thanks and +Rep

The stump method still works fine.. and has a 100% success rate if you do it right

I do it weekly... and it only takes me 3 attempts max... and I havent died doing it in months

May be a necropost, but since 3.3 this reset method stopped working - you're teleported off the ledge now, same story with the stump to the left.

Im still trying this. Simply running out of the boss' zone DOES reset him, and you WILL be able to catch back up with him, but I didn't manage to bug him like I used to. Being able to Feign Death or Vanish helps in having some attempts, but if you then try to kill him the normal way it'll get bugged in a bad way, where Thekal just runs around with 0% hp and because idle.

Evading him in corridor and reseting with FD works like a dream, done it today.

Tried the method today, and it worked. No mount dropped though, I'll keep on trying until it does though

I wish there was a way to remove rep hahaha. Since 3.3, none of the jumping up on object methods work effectively like they did in the previous patches. Although i did manage to get it to work once it definitely was not worth it. The best method that I know of that is still currently working properly, is the one where you aggro him on mount and run out the entrance till he drops aggro then run back and re-aggro. This method has been posted before. so just search it( not really hard to find there's been like a million of these posts and if u cant find it search google/youtube theres also an unending resource of videos for it).
