I heard about this yesterday went through the motions last night. My group was banned for killing coren about 40+ times, but i don't know how easily they can retract the items. I've already sold my tankards and i have one of the mounts from it. While they were all obtained during the exploit, it seems like it would be hard to set everything straight and determine which ones are legit.

Exact same scenario as Spazmonkey. Myself , wife and 3 friends. We all are old enough to accept the consequences but worse case scenario is they delete all and any loot legit or otherwise from our inventorys.

If that happens we will be sad little spanked pandas. I guess this is one of those times they feel they need to make an example. The bug didnt revolve around you making a choice and only you suffering the consequence. It involved using others as well and as such a perfect way for Blizz to slap you on the hand and have your friends doing push ups for bringing them into it as well.

Ahh well, time to break out the camping gear.

Banned for 72 hours hope I dont loose my items

I heard about this yesterday went through the motions last night. My group was banned for killing coren about 40+ times, but i don't know how easily they can retract the items. While they were all obtained during the exploit, it seems like it would be hard to set everything straight and determine which ones are legit.

Everything you do ingame or an NPC ingame is logged, that includes Chat, Loot, Selling to NPCs, killing NPCs etc... everything.
Hence how GMs to a character or armor / weapon restoration and it takes them time to complete the request as they backtrack through logs to ensure that the fault is legit and the resolution can then be finalised.

Another example is when you log onto WoW you account details are logged from X IP address and if you have a Farmer or powerleveler from another country log onto your account, the IP address was either flagged for investigation and or impossible for you to travel half way accross the world and log onto the account in a matter of minutes without having the account shared.

Only reason why most people who are able to get away with some GM explots is if the GM does not follow proper procedures to ensure that a restoration is legit. (Lazy GM, wants it resolved and over with)

You get 1x3 day ban(final warning) then a perma ban.

Well a 72-hour ban and a final warning can be mutually exclusive. You dont always get a final warning with a 72-hour ban. I know, I've had both occurances. In this exploit it is only a 72-hour ban in and of itself. Of course if you already have other warnings on the account, it might have been a 72-hour final warning for you.

I've got several bans (1x 3h, 1x 24h, 2x72h) now ive got my third 72h ban and the email says nothing about a final warning....

They just count number of Coren death and apply a massive ban wave.
