Yesterday, I tried again 4 times and still no luck again... She finds him every time in that same spot.

Worked first try, a bunch of friends all went and bought all their weapon training and are happily whacking away

An easy way to bug her consistently (worked 10 out of 10 trys for me) was to just close the door to the yard after killing Morgraine outside. It seems that Whitemane is not able to run or cast through the door so she bugs.
