Lay On Hands vs Hakkar. Infinite uses. (screenshots)

Ok, this is my first contribution, so please be gentle.

This is something I found out today while me and a friend were clearing ZG for fun.

My specc at the moment is retribution. (Doubt specc matters tho)

Once we cleared the place and got to hakkar, I realized after using Lay On Hands, that every time I hit hakkar, it refreshed the cooldown.

Just to be sure I tried it multiple times and each time I hit hakkar it refreshed the cooldown.

paladin > hakkar.


Was gonna post a screenshot, but didnt get any good shot at the combat log where I used it multiple times at the same page, so you'll just have to try for yourself to confirm.

Here's screenshots from todays attempt, and it still worked for me. Didnt work at the start of the fight, might've been the first drain that activated it.(Not sure thought)

Nothinglol, I'll try to post a screen when ZG resets, but before that there's nothing I can do really.

I have no idea why. But heck, I don't care, as long as it works, I can't die against hakkar, so I'm happy lol.

Yah I guess it's not of much use, you could get a few gold from entire ZG, but I guess there's better ways if you want gold. However it could be neat for anyone who hasnt gotten the ZG achievement if you're after it.


(side note. A full run of ZG with two people resulted in about 250~ gold for me. And I got most of the loot. However when we did this today we killed almost everything, since my friend needed rep. So this took a while. However if you go straight for bosses you can do this in less then an hour. Bat boss will however need someone to silence her if you dont want to wait for her mana to run out before killing her. However you could skip her and it wouldnt make much difference on hakkar I guess, since you're close to immortal lol.)

Conclusion. It's not much gold, but it's something and if you need the ZG achievement, then why not?

hmm.. I'll try again tomorrow, maybe this was just a one time thing.. Or maybe it's something about my specc. Will dig deeper into this.

since people are having problems...what I see before both of those is seal of blood hitting...maybe that has something to do with it...

Yeah this would be pretty great if it was reproducible. +Rep

It's worked twice for me, so it should work for others, not sure why some aren't getting it to work.

Side notes and tips:
1. check the buffs and try to imitate if it's something with the current buffs I used.
2. All bosses except the summon bosses and jin'do, was dead both times I did this. (have not tried without killing other bosses)
3. Second time I tried, it didn't work immediately, it reset a minute or two into the fight. (no idea why).
However, since I didn't even notice it until a while in the first fight, it is possible that the bug is caused by the first life drain.


Any theories?

This is very interesting, if I was confident that I could solo all the other bosses I'd certainly try to test this. How hard does Hakkar hit if you don't kill many? I haven't tried it and of course haven't raided this since people were stuck on Vael.

EDIT: The only boss I soloed recently was tiger. =( Managed it with adds somehow, was very iffy and hard to duplicate. The heals are so annoying.

well if you go as prot, you'll find that most of the bosses are pretty easy to solo.
I only went ret as I also had a warrior with me, and he was prot. Though at hakkar I suggest you switch to ret of course. (if you have dualspecc.) There's obviously no reason to go prot if you got unlimited uses of LoH.
If you survive until it kicks in that is, but with bubble and stuff it shouldn't be a problem.

Just put up SoL, BoS and play defensive.
Only boss that I found to be troublesome is the bat boss, since she heals and as a paladin you don't really have any way to interrupt her.
I'm guessing if you do the other bosses and skip her, it shouldn't make that much of a difference on hakkar. (I think)
