As SOME of you know, the Yogg Saron encounters first phase consists of pulling Guardians of Yogg-Saron, and killing them while they are positioned near Sara, who stands in the center of the room.
Upon their death, they explode, doing damage to Sara, and when she dies, this pushes the fight into phase two.
Some of you ALSO know: The longer you are into phase one, the more adds that spawn in smaller time intervals.
So to make phase one easier we have discovered this nifty tactic.
The Yogg Saron encounter is started by a raid entering about 10 yards into the room. Luckily, mages can invis into the room, and rogues can stealth. Sadly, the green clouds around the room pull rogues out of stealth, but do NOT pull mages out of invis.
So what were going to do?
Send a mage into the room while invis, direct him by word of mouth over vent as to which direction to go, and have the mage walk through anywhere from 1 to 4 of the clouds, depending on how many adds your guild is comfortable with. The mage then walks back toward the entrance and hopefully gets out before he comes out of invis.
To make this even easier: If you have a warlock in the raid, you can toss the mage a summon before he even runs in the room, this allows him to take his time finding the clouds, and then accept the summon when he needs to.
The mobs, because they have such HUGE aggro ranged, will come running toward you.
Have your raid burn them down very low, then start the encounter, pulling the damaged mobs to sara and finishing them off.
And viola!
A much quicker phase one.
