kaw the mammoth destroyer glitch

well i went to go do the kaw the mammoth destroyer quest in borean tundra, and i figured out that you dont actually have to fight him and still get the kill. only works for casters

all you do if run up to the bottom of his platform so he starts yelling , then you run back to the road so when he hops on his mammoth you dont aggro him , then get close enough to him that you can cast spells but he doesnt aggro , now target HIM on top of the mammoth and start casting and as long as you startout of his range and dont attack the mammoth he will lose health until he is dead then you can loot his body when the mammoth despawns

he is pretty easy to kill without this , but if you dont want to take dmg.....

You just need his weapon, right? As I came to him a night elf killed him, his weapon dropped as a usable object?
