    S-priest misery

The tooltip for misery says it increases your mind flay damage by 3.86%, but in reality blizz messed up the coeffiecient and increased it to 30%

Our shadow priest was doing 10k dps tonight with no mind sear.

Work with it while its still bugged

Currently, misery is increasing the damage of Mindflay by 15% per tick, instead of the intended 15% over the entire duration. This is causing very inflated dps.

15% increased per tick and 15% increased total is exactly the same. Please wait with mathematical statements until you can successfully calculate a basic multiplication.

15% increased total means that there is a bonus of say, 500 damage over the entire duration of the dot. 15% increased per tick means that there would be that 500 damage on every tick, equating to much more damage. If there was 3 ticks, it would be an extra 1500 damage.

Mind FlayRank 99% of base mana20 yd rangeChanneledAssault the target's mind with Shadow energy, causing 588 Shadow damage over 3 sec and slowing their movement speed by 50%.

    588/3 = 196 dmg per second.

Now let's say it gets 15% damage per tick.

    Then it would be 196x1,15 = 225,4 , and that multiplying by 3 = 676,2

Now let's say it gets 15% damage over the total duration.

    588x1,15 = 676,2

Am I calculating things wrong or?

Or well, this is assuming of the damage it does. But each tick does different damage since mind flay can also crit or be resisted etc, but this is just a rough calculation of what the damage would be.

    You fail too.
    Sad.

    15% increased each tick is:
    percentage * tickdamage
    not
    tickdamage + percentage*totaldamage

where the hell did you get that math from?
    Aap?

Sorry, I worded the explanation incorrectly.

The bonus granted from misery from your spellpower is applied to each tick of mindflay, instead of spreading that bonus across the entire duration of the spell.

So if, for example, misery added 500 damage total to your mindflay, it's now bugged adding 500 to each tick.
