[Edited/Confirmed] Get Darnassus Boss Achievment Without Raid Group!

Ok so I was messing around in Darnassus today on Skullcrusher US... I was not in a group of any kind- I was just running around killing guards and junk and I made a very nice discovery.

You dont need to be in the raid group in order to get the "For The Horde" Acheivment.. you only need to be in the same capitol city that they are currently raiding

I was all the way accross DN and a raid group downed the boss- I got the achievment!


SO HERES WHAT YOU DO...

STEP 1. GO to DARNASSUS
STEP 2. Wait for a raid to come through
STEP 3. Let them kill boss
STEP 4. GET ACHIEVEMENT


Sorry I didnt think to snap a screenie it all happened so fast-- but I put my rep at stake here that this worked just this morning!

EDIT: THIS METHOD HAS BEEN RETESTED BY SOME OF THE OTHER MEMBERS ON THE SITE.. IT HAS BEEN DISCOVERED TO BE HORDE ONLY.... MORE SPECIFICALLY DARNASSUS ONLY!!

This is just retarded... Why on earth would you just follow a raid without being in it? Also if the ally / horde own your raid.. um yeah they're gonna bring force apon you're anus aswell

this was getting posted and deleted basically daily around the time the pre wrath patch came out... couldnt find the originals... but about 1/2 way down people were talkin about rogues going in and getting freebies.

1. full raids
2. Lowbies wanting mount


also.. you dont need to fight- just go hang out at the border and get the achievement

know any other way to get a black war bear at lvl 60 without paying or having kind guildies?

Thanks for pointing that out.. but that post is overly complicated-- none of those circumstances mentioned even make a difference.. its this simple BE IN CITY- GET ACHEIVEMENT

thats it... and im sorry to the people that think its useless.. but I am a collector and I love being the only lvl 60 on the server riding one haha

I shed my lurkitude for a moment to say that I'm fairly sure this doesn't work. I participated in a two-raid-group kill of Thrall, and the other raid got the tag (we planned to do it later with the same group to get the ach for the other people.) Thrall died, I didn't get credit.

Horde only, perhaps?

thats very interesting... it must be horde only, or even Darnassus only-- I am not sure but I have now seen this work twice under the same circumstances

At 70's we went SW/IF with 2 raids, always just 1 raid got the kill and had to wait 6h respawn, guess they buffed it for the retards :P

1. If you're in a raid you need to fight against the alliances/hordes + mobs
and if you don't you will be kicked
2. So you can just shadowmeld yourself and hide out.
3. These numbers make no sense
