Edit:: Sorry 'bout that, I must be retarded.. Yours was a day older than the one I linked so guess that doesn't count.. :P I just saw the other one much earlier myself :<

And the range is said to be 100 yards, all I know myself is that it works VERY far and 100% on anyone targeting you (mages, druids too according to my friend)..
