It's still a nice post, really helpful. Neither did i find any other posts including Fingers of Frost. This has made me really happy seeing as i did not know of this before. + Rep

Hehe, its good to know people find it out early. But consider those who dont. Its good to get it all stated out.
I also recognized it the first day, didnt think of writing it then :P
Common sence man...
I've been doing this for a while, and it's not an exploit it works the exact same way an original frostbolt does before the patch when going for a shatter combo, for instance,
frostnova, frostbolt, icelance. it's done on purpose and has been posted in the official world of warcraft forums, the reason they have said this is because from the normal casting distance (with out the adds from talents) both of your spells hit at the exact same time, so the +chance of crit applies to both. the only thing you're doing is adding a frostbolt, also another tip that could be applied is you can do frostbolt, frostbolt, deep freeze, stunned for 5 seconds while you shoot 3 icelances at them, all critting for around 1.7-2.1k damage)
Any real mage should EASILY know this..
