Name Change

This was told to me by a friend. I don't know if this has been shared on the site already (probrably but just in case).

ok if you hate your name then delete your character.

get a friend to make a character on your server / realm with the name of your former character.

make a lvl 1 alt with any name. go online, and petition to a GM, asking for a character restoration (say you accidently deleted wrong character or something) when they restore your character you should get a screen asking you to rename your character, because someone with your original name already exists. proceed to rename your character as you see fit.

That is extremely hard to pull off and highly unlikely to succeed, but it IS technically possible...

I've done this many times :P

Although, one of the times I did it, a GM took my name. o.O

i think another form of this has already been posted.. but this goes to show you, there are many ways to go about doing this simple task.

Well, I just simply asked the GM for a name change. I'm not sure if it is against their policy or what not but he let me told me to log out and when I logged back in I got to rename ^^.
